I have a pedersoli rb in 357 mag.

I slugged the barrel and the lands measure 354--355.

Is it usual for pedersoli to have tight bores??

I dont think I would call that a tight bore. If it has a standard groove of .358" and a bore of .355" that gives a groove depth of only .0015". Thats not much!
What is the groove depth?
A standard bore / groove for 35 cal should be more like .350" bore and .358" groove.

The bore is .343--.345. Groove is .354--.355. I think the ranch dog molds are oversize so I will probably go with RCBS 35-200. That was recommended and it has a good reputation. I have a .358 sizing die. Groove depth would be .005-.006".

That gives you a groove depth of about .005" and that is good. Even though you have a euro 35 which is really 9mm. As long as your throat will readily accept a cartridge loaded with a .358" diameter boolit you should be good to go.

The fellow I bought this from did not shoot cast. He shot a variety of 4-5 manuf. jacketed bullets. I think Remington gave him the best results.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

I will get a picture posted.

Good I will like to see it. I am in the middle of re building a Marlin 357 but would sure like to try one of those rollers.

Hiram,

The throat in that Ped is real long, I shoot the RCBS 200GC in it.
I had a lot of trouble getting it to shoot cast boolits that were crimped in the groove...too much jump.

I finally got it to shoot with the RCBS boolit seated way out.
Smokeless...15gr 5744 @1.940" OAL
BP Swiss 3F..25gr/no wad @1.960" OAL

You could probably run a 357 Max reamer in it an still have freebore left.

Have Fun...it's a real fun thing to shoot...no felt recoil.

If you decide to trade it I would like to begin forming the line of interested parties.

Nice rifle! The scope kind of throughs it out of balance to the eye though. You really need an old Weaver 4X look for one in the want adds or advertise for one. I bet it's like shooting a 22 rifle. Looks like a lot of fun though. I would be very careful about shooting a 357 max in it unless you load them down a bit then work up and watch for pressure signs.

I would have preferred a tang sight but the owner put the unertl on and lost the tang sight. Since the barrel was already drilled and tapped, bases installed, I went with what was there.
