Have recently come up with a Ruger #3, having been rebarreled with a 28" octagon barrel, chambered to the .40-90 SS c'trdige.
It came with 39 loaded rounds, using 370 gr cast and 4198 powder.
A most comfortable shooting load combination this is.
I'm seeking to gather more information for loads with this round.
I you've use, or have dabbled with this chambering, I'd appreciate hearing some of your loading information, if you'd be willing to share it.
regards to all

Now THAT is an odd bird of a cartridge and rifle.

Only suggestion I could say would be to have it rechambered to 405 winchester? But thats unhelpful. Sorry I couldn't resist, its just that the cartridge is well.......different.

Sorry I have no reloading info for it, but you might want to check the BPCR and shiloh sharps forum.

Did you get some more cases for it? Be prepared with a clean pair of shorts.

Nothing odd about a .40-90, just fill it with black powder and use that 370 grain bullet.
