I have an Acraglass bedding kit and am out of the black color additive. Is there a substitute to give the black color to the epoxy and still let the bedding cure properly?

Can't imagine how carbon black powder could affect epoxy curing. Use the dry powder and you should be fine. should be available at an art supply type place among others.

I've used acrylic artist paints.

Go to the paint store and ask for fiberglass coloring.
It is the same stuff as is in acraglas and comes in a whopping lot of colors.

Why a substitute?

You can get the powdered resin dye on E-Bay pretty cheap, and any other color you need too. You get a lot more than in those little packets Brownell's includes in the kit too.

Thanks for the help guys! I am going to be in town today, and I will stop in the Hobby Lobby and try to find some black acrylic pigment. Only reason I want to sub is that I have enough left in the kit to do one rifle. I'll get a new kit next time I need it. $10 for the color and probably close to that for shipping...can't justify that when I don't need to order anything else right now. I'll let y'all know what I use and how it turns out. Thanks again!
