About 1300# of ww ingots another 600-700 or so in its origonal form, about 900# lino/mono and about 500# soft lead. Not including alloys that I have mixed up.

Yeah I got bored and curious one day not too long ago. If I get bored and currious again I know what I am NOT going to do!!

I don't think that your feeling to stock up will ever go away. Mine hasn't.

LEAD FEVER NEVER GOES AWAY!!!

As it stands right now...I have...

108# of commercial "hardball" (6% Antimony/2% Tin)
110# of WW
63# of fishing sinkers (don't know what the comp. is)
40# of pure lead suitable for the front-stuffers

And I REALLY feel the need to stock up. Although I have a foundry right here in town where I can buy all the commercial stuff I want with a simple phone call and a check. Given that there's no driving around town and chasing and clip removal, it's probably a bargain, but I like the WW stuff too...buying the alloy seems so....sterile!

Couple hundred pounds of wheel weights, "x-ray" and indoor range lead. Then there is the "unkown" lead...... Enough for a lifetime at the rate I shoot, but I'm always on the look out for more.

Took some scrap metal to local scrap dealer this week. I ask them how much they were paying for lead. They are buying soft lead at $ .39/lb. and wheel weights at $ .34/lb.

I would suggest one stock up on all of the cheap lead and WW you can find.

Not nearly enough.

~186 lb clip weights
~76 lb stick weights
~24 lb 50/50 and 60/40 solder

I do have another 65 lb of raw clip weights and 65lb of clip weight ingots coming. I need to hit up my local sources again when I have time.

Will never have enough on hand to suit me. Probably about 300 lbs uncast, and maybe the same amount or better cast sized and lubed. We need to be concerned big time about the EPA and the environmental wacos regarding lead in the future

It's been a while since I added it all up, but it was a little over a ton. Since then, shot some, got some, so still a little over a ton. I think about 2200 lbs of various alloys. Mostly wheel weights.

I have about 380 lbs in ingots. My dad just renovated a bathroom and have about 30 lbs on the way. I'm shootin for a ton but will settle for 1000 lbs for now

Around 2500 lbs. rendered of various alloys, mostly COWW
Around 1100 lbs. I need to render, about half soft lead and half COWW
I also have a BIL that has around 3000 lbs of cable sheathing, that he doesn't use much of, that is available to me.

I hate you guys. I have maybe 200lbs total of all things Lead including bullets.

Nothing to hate. You just have to accumulate it one small (or sometimes large) chunk at time. Those huge finds are rare. Most of mine was acquired as half buckets of WWs.

Not quite sure, but at least 3,500 pounds but could easily be two tons. Most of it's COWW now in ingot form. The pure (500+) is plumber's lead, and I've got about 4oo pounds SOWW in ingots. About 350 pounds of lino.

Absolutely. Most folks with sizable stashes built it over a period of years with a small find here and a nice score there.

Heck, I've probably shot more along the way than I have on the shelf now. That's the way it should be!8-)

Yep, that's the way I built my stash which is right at 2 tons.
About 800 pounds of it is soft lead and the rest is clip on WW.
I got 600 pounds of the soft lead in one score.
Details here:
http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=88103

The rest of my stash was acquired one bucket (or partial bucket) of WW's at a time.

I've got six full buckets of clip WWs sorted and ready to smelt- that's about 900#. Got three buckets of range scrap likewise, about 450#. About 500# of clip WW ingots and 600# of range scrap ingots. 35# of high-tin babbitt. About 35# of monotype and foundry type. Small amount of linotype and solder. 100# of stickon WW, had 300# of it that went to a family member for black powder duties. About 400# of boolits already cast, most of that is sized and lubed and ready to go. So total about 3000# give or take a bit. Not including storeboughten FMJs and such.

I have 18 5 gallon buckets of unprocessed WWs. I have a decent pile of ingots (clip-ons) and 3 large coffee cans of unprocesed range scrap. Several bars of solder too. I will never stop getting them. I get feverish thinking about WWs.................

If you're not calling out your stash in tons, you don't have enough.

In the current political climate, there is no such thing as enough or too much. With a determined effort over the last 6 years I have cast over 11 cubic ft of ingots. At about 470 +lbs per cu ft, its more than I'll ever shoot.
Now that the prices on powder and primers are looking better I'm trading free lead for components. It's what you have in inventory that will keep you shooting in the years to come.
Am I still collecting lead?????
Of course I am. Like I stated, there is never enough, and certainly never too much.
Happy Thanksgiving.

I have about 1000lbs. 99% ww's. 250 lbs of lino. 100 lbs soft. Certainly more than I will ever need but I get whatever I can. When I can no longer shoot I am sure there will be someone who will want it.
