............I was shlepping around on E-Bay the other evening, and don't even recall now what catagory I was in, but an auction for a new Mitutoya tenths reading mic was about to time out with only an initial $15 bid. I figured there were probably 10 guys around the country ready to pounce on it, but what the heck!

No sense being a pig so I bid $20 thinking if someone REALLY wanted it my piddly bid wouldn't even slow'em down :-) Danged if I wasn't not only the high bidder but the ONLY bidder, so I got it for $15.50 + $8 shipping (USPS SFRB + del Conf + Insurance) I figure $23.50 wasn't a bad deal:D Doesn't have a spindle lock or friction spindle, but I suspect it's about 1/3rd the real price.
Another good deal (I thought) were these 'D' type drill bits:

They're 23/64ths (.359") made by Precision Twist Drill and 6 of'em for $6 + $5 shipping. I have no idea what they normally go for but I know it's more then a buck apiece (or almost $2 each with shipping!) So what am I gonna DO with 'em? Why, grind them into spoons for boring swage dies and stuff :drinks: Heck, they're already ground in half and that sure beats the "Buckshot Method' of standing in front of the bench grinder for seemingly eons gingerly trying to get it right! All I'll have to do now is cut them off to length and grind the radius. All the heavy lifting has been done. I figure even the cut off pieces will be long enough to use for shorter stuff.
