I just recieved notice that the Lyman cast handbook #4 I ordered a few months ago is being shipped today. I hope it was worth the wait.

My Lyman source says that pallets of them arrived there Wednesday and they began shipping them yesterday.

We'll all get them at about the same time, apparently - unless you ordered from Midway or someplace. Then they'll have to be shipped there, inventoried and then shipped back out to you.

Midway just updated there in stock date to 12/17......unfortunately that's where I ordered it from. Looks like I still have to wait a little while.

If we all have loads worked up that already shoot 1" groups @ 100 and 2" groups @ 200 and so on, why do we need this new cast bullet reloading manual.

For me, I do not have a cast bullet manual. I have a few pages and such, but not a book. I am just getting into casting rifle boolits and some new hand gun boolits. So, if I am going to get a book....why not the latest? That is my reason for insanity....what is yours? TCG

I'm new to casting boolits, so I don't actually have those groups worked out yet

We might not. But there are lots of new folks who haven't done all that yet.

Even if that were true, beginners (or specialists) might have only a few powders, and those few powders might not be RD, Unique, and 2400. A loading manual gives you a chance to know start and end loads for more powders than you'll see here.

I am hoping that there are some pressures listed with the loads, but we will see.

I must admit I didn't consider the new comer to bullet casting when I posted. Just thought everyone had some sort of reference material (book)in order to start casting. Me , I have enough half can's of powder, I don't need more. Enjoy the book.
