I have a 35 Remington Marlin 336________I am planning on ordering the 190 mold from Michael Reamy "RanchDog." I am just not sure what I need to look for as far as Anti-lead-etc...for shooting a gas checked rifle bullet at high velocity. I have also been reading up on the Saeco Mold #352 35 Caliber (358 Diameter) 245 Grain Flat Nose Gas Check.

Looking for a 190 & 245 grain load set-up for woods hunting pigs, deer, and other larger North American species...

I have access to WW but there are so many types of alloy combinations now a days...AND I am not really sure what to look for...

SO I was going to just buy lead to use for bullets.
I looked at Roto and was wondering what route to take?

Any help would be more the welcome[smilie=s:

White Eagle...
I am new to almost all of the terms...here!
G/C= gas check
W/W= wheel weight

NOT SURE what these mean___ W A and W/Q

w a g/c you can either w/q or not the choice is yours
for my 358 win I use w/q ww

Thanks

edited...I figured out W/Q= water quenched?

White Eagle is getting pretty brief, but the "a" might stand for Air Dropped, as opposed to Water Dropped/Water Quenched.

I've pushed my RCBS .35 200gr. FN to full acceptable pressures using a 50/50 mix of pure lead and monotype, which yields about 18 BHN.

I think that the W A G/C may mean (with A G/C) WQ means water quenched like 454 said.
Water quenched will raise your Bhn with w/w to about 20-22 bhn.
There are several methods to water quenching. If you need help just ask.

The 35 rem is one of the most cast friendly calibers out there. You do not need anything special to make it run well when things are normal. A simple air cooled RCBS 35-200 is hard to beat if the mould makes the right diameter boolit for your iron. I prefer water dropped 50/50 ww/pure for my hunting loads but it is by no means a requirement. Everybody makes a good mould or two for the 35 rem.......pick one and be happy as long as it fits your toy. I have also had excellent luck with the BRP 360-220, and the BRP 360-180 in my pre micro marlins.

The secret for the 35REM seems to be this.........just pick a normal design that hopefully fits your gun, cast em up, let em cool , lube em and check em, and then load em over 36-38 grains of H335, W-748, BLC-2, or a similar powder and enjoy.

I use the waterdeopped 50/50 to aid in expansion and to cut down on the antimony wash that straight wheelweight CAN cause, but 50/50 is NOT a necessary requirement. I think the 35 rem is thee perfect rifle caliber for what I hunt and it is a joy to play with...........GOOD CHOICE:D

I ordered the 35/190gr and the 359 Lee sizer from Ranchdog yesrterday!

***I like the micro-groove Alox lube option and Lee sizer die...THOSE $200 lube sizing machines are a more then I want to spend right now!

Waterdropping is dropping the solid yet still very hot boolit into a bucket of water as you cast them. With a 50/50 mix of ww/pure you get a boolit that is harder than it would be if you simply dropped it onto a rag and let it aircool. 50/50 will reach 21-22BHN after about 2 weeks, yet it is still a good mallable boolit for hunting.

Using straight ww at higher pressures and velocity can give the inside of your barrel a slight grey/white antimony coating. WD 50/50 does not do this when the proper lube is used. I do not clean my bores on my cast guns hardly ever and the 50/50 allows me to do this plus it works like a partition bullet on game....win/win.
