Well guys I done did it. This morning I shot my first cast boolit deer. She was 5 years old according to the DNR guys at the check station.

I was using a T/C Contender with a 10" 357 Mag barrel and shot her about 60 yards away. Loaded shells used H-110, Remington 7 1/2 primer, under the BRP 360-180. NICE boolit!!!! I shot her facing me and the boolit penetrated though the chest and came out about half way back next to the spine (yep she was a bit above me). Dropped her right there. Field dressed she came in at 165#. Nice day in the woods although I was only out there about 15 minutes before I dropped her.

Well done! Killed one a few years back with my Mosin and I was in the stand for 3 minutes! It was a J bullet though.

Thanks guys for the kind words. I kinda enjoyed enjoyed getting a deer with my own cast boolit more than I've enjoyed get a deer in the last few years with l-words. I guess it is because of the quest to find a boolit that was accurate for me and all. This cast boolit thing has added a great deal to my shooting experience and now to my hunting experience. Know what I mean?

I fully understand. Last 5 deer, 2 pigs, 1 black bear all with boolits cast by me.
Careful though, or you will add an extra headache to preparing for hunting season. You soon will be trying to decide what firearm and boolit to use.

Congrats on your first boolit buck. Feels great doesn't it?

Edd,

Cast bullets & a TC, kind of puts the fun back in, doesn't it?

So did she come right across the top of that knob with the red chair that we walked this summer?:Fire:

After killing/witnessing several deer becoming meat with the help of the BRP360-180 in my max pistol I have grown quite fond of that boolit,,,,,,,it flat gets it done.

Well done.

With all the reports I have been hearing from my friends and family in Mid Michigan makes me wish I bought a plane ticket home for a weeks vacation.

My parents neighbor took a really nice 8 pointer out of my old tree stand this morning.

Havent heard from my dad yet. He is at camp in the U.P. right now.

The rest of the story:

Edd slept in on opening day........wandered 100 yards out behind his house. He took a 15 minute nap and the doe was eating the lettuce outta his sandwich that his sweet little wife made him when he woke up and shot the poor hungry doe.

Pretty much the whole story:?::?: Most of the facts have been left out of the original post to protect the innocent. Peanut butter and lettuce make a good sandwich but bait?:idea:

Thanks Mike...ole buddy...
