If someone has the Hornady #7 loading book would you please look up data for the 35 Rem and give your opinion.
Any bad data makes me question all data from that source.

came with a tri fold card that corrected several screw ups. Also includes data for the 480 Ruger.

For the 200 grain loads the velocities at the top of the columns
Should be [1600] [1700] [1800] [1900] [2000] [2050] instead of

[2650] [2700] [2750] [2800] [2850] [2900]

Don't know how there can be so many problems. Doesn't anyone proof read.

Life is good

Yeah, they could probably get that Lyman #4 out quicker if they didn't proofread.

The problem noted above is why I have always advised people to use three load books. The bullet maker's book ought to be primary because of large difference among bullets - even of the same weight. The powder maker's book ought to be your crosscheck source because they usually quote data for the bullet that developed the highest pressures - and therefore other bullets will also be safe. Finally, in the event of a large discrepancy between the two, use the current Lyman book - because they test a variety of bullets and powders and have no vested interest in either.

Oh good because I was considering setting the barrel back on my 35 Whelen and rechambering to 35 Rem to get the increased velocity, twisted!

I could be wrong but seems as if every loading manual, every free hand out guide I've ever looked at had at least one mistake I've found. Just yesterday I was thunbing through the 2002 IMR handloaders guide;

358 Winchester- 200 gr Silvertip-51.0 grs IMR 4320- 3656 fps-62800CUP(not psi)

Wow no wonder the ol 358 kills so good, 200 grainer @ 3656

Here's one from last nights light reading.
Speer manual#14
6.5x55 Mauser-140 gr sp-IMR 4064 31.0 gr-3193fps
That's some mighty fine velocity from a starting load of 4064

Oops, just found another in Speer 1959 publication of Handloaders Guide of wildcat Cartridges data for 7x57 AI. Looks like we've been living with bugaboos since I was wearing short pants.

Dan another thing I've noticed is when Lyman specifies twist rates, especially on euro designed milsurps they seem to list something different than I get measuring it, sometimes an inch or more off, and I'm pretty careful or atleast think I am. Maybe a typo or just publishing the same thing over and over when it was wrong in the first place? We'll probably never know, but I learned long ago check EVERYTHING!
