i just picked up a 5.7x28 ar upper.
im thinking of casting for it.
what .224 boolit and lube(no lube sizer so pan or tumble only) would be best?
im thinking 30gr @ 2400fps to 40gr @ 2000fps.
what are your thoughts and ideas?

Isn't the action a blowback design? What is the twist rate ?

Light .22 molds are hard to find. If you can find a lyman 225-450 it's only about 45 grains, and is very pointy. the 225-438 is about the same weight, but a lot shorter and round nosed. The 225-438 is a current catalog item, most every other currently made and frequently available mold is 55 grains and up. The ranch dog mold is only about 50 though, and is a great price point!
The short 5.7 neck length isn't real good for cast either. Sadly the cartridge just aint great for cast in it's current form.
