anybody had a problem with them? J Linebaugh says they have scratched cases up for a few people on the sizing die. I have always loved hornady dies.

Mine work fine. They are not carbide dies!!!! You gotta lube your cases!!

if you're worried about nicking the brass, you can file down the end of the retaining clip a bit............but don't go too far......don't ask me how i know.

also there is a company called CH4D, they make affordable dies (relative to what RCBS wants for a set of 500L dies) and i've thought about ordering some 500L dies from them. these are std dies as well, not carbide

Linebaugh said Lee is going to be making some but it will be six months at least. I prefer hornady to Lee. ch4d I don't know whether to trust and get some or not. I have heard good and bad. any experience with them?

I've got the Hornady dies as well and there's nothing wrong with them.

I wonder if the individuals in question didn't lube properly. I would have assumed that anybody loading 500L would have a clue what they were doing.

There was one problem prior to this summer with the Hornady 500 Linebaugh dies – the expander plug was a bit oversized. They have now corrected that problem. I received my “corrected” expander plug several weeks ago.

For what it's worth Mr. Linebaugh suggested I get dies from RCBS but I bought the Hornady,s within the past month from Midway. I'm sure the Rcbs dies would have been first rate but there is nothing wrong with Hornady's. I was afraid of not having dies when the gun get's here.
