I got my first deer with a cast bullet today. Nice 2year old doe. I took out the top of the heart so it didn't go far. Had to process it today, mid 60's today an tomorrow.
When i came in from hunting an told my story. The wifes only question was. Well did you use some of those things you have been spending all your time on.
Id like to thank NOE for my .311/ 165gr Mold. an another member who helped me overcome a prob. I was having with my loading.

I know that feeling well.
I shot one 2 years ago with the
45-70 Cowboy and a RCBS 405 gc.
She layed down and never got up.:redneck:

Good on you KB. There is nothing quite as satisfying as putting meat on the table from an animal you have killed with a boolit you have cast and loaded yourself.

Congratulations! Getting back to basics is always fun. I get a kick out of harvesting a deer with a roundball that I cast and used a cotton patch that I cut and greased it with a Bear Grease and bees wax mixture that I made. Life don't get much better.
