Just got a square deal the other day, sold a Lee pro1000 to pay for it. Well, most of it. Anyway, primer pickup tubes are new to me. When full, can they lay down until needed without primers flipping or getting stuck?

If not, I'll drill a few holes to stand them up. That's plan B though.

Thanks guys.

I lay mine down without issues.
You have small tubes and large tubes.

They can be layed down but I stand mine in a open mouth mason jar. I've loaded on a Lee 1000 with no problems but you are going to love your new Dillion. I currently have 2= 550's and a 650 with case feeder.

Thanks. I've loaded a out 200 rounds and shot 1/2 of them already. Mainly to make sure the crimp is right.

Gotta admit, I love this press already.

I've laid mine down for years and never had an issue. Standing them up is potentially a safety issue because you don't want them to fall off any appreciable height.

J,

That's a potentially very deadly grenade! If you drop a tube and one goes off, many more may go with it, blowing shards of glass everywhere. You might want to find a plastic or metal container to replace the Mason jar.

As for laying a full primer tube on its side... It's impossible for the primers to flip in the tube, as long as you have the proper sized tube. I don't think even small primers will flip in a large tube, but I haven't checked it. Anyway, the inside diameter of the tube that's correct for the primer being loaded is smaller than the diagonal dimension of the primer, so it's impossible for the primers to flip in the tube.
