Recently I posted a question apparently in the wrong forum so I'll try it here.

A fellow shooter is interested in my no longer needed and unopened 25 lb canvas bag of Winchester AA shot with size marked on the bag as "9 Spl". I am merely trying to determine how much I should expect to get for this one bag of No.9 shot. Anyone know? I have tried a search and with the fluctuation on the prices of lead, did not really find a firm/realistic price. Help will sure be appreciated.
Many thanks.

Thats just a personal thing to work out. Shot is lead. Shot costs over $2.00 per pound.
Not many people would part with lead at under $1.00 per pound these days.

added to a melt it would increase the antimony and the arsenic , both needed if one is heat treating ( quenching ) the BHN of the shot of course will vary depending upon the amount of antimony and arsenic , as noted shot is usually worth a lil more than scrap and unknown lead , when i make lyman's #2 with lino i always add smelted shot as part of the "pure lead" so if i wish i can heat treat it
as for what it's worth ...should have no problem getting a little less than it is currently selling for in your area ( if still in good shape - not growing white etc ) worse i still recall bags of it for $10-12 ( wouldnt we like to have a semi load now at that price lolz )

Thanks guys.
fryboy - this IS a much more appropriate place for me to pose the value question than that other forum.

Here in texas, shot ranges from $35-$50 per 25lb bag. Online with shipping it's about the same. If you offer it for $30 it'll sell quick and you won't be shorting yourself much. If you try to sell it at market prices, it may sit as why buy your old stuff to someone's new.

Yeah, put a $30 + shipping on it and someone will probably buy it. No 9 is not used as much as 6-8 shot. Works good for shot loads in a revolver though.

MIdway had lead shot on sale for ~$34 bag of 25 pounds... it was actually cheaper to buy lead shot than it is to get their ingot form of lead...

Looks like if I price my 25# canvas bag of No. 9 Spl shot in the Winchester AA marked unopened bag for about $28, it will probably sell. Here's hoping that it will move off my table at an upcoming gun show. Thanks guys!

One thing to remember tho, lead shot never contains any tin.

Got rid of that 25# bag of Winchester No. 9 Spl shot. That little bag really seemed heavy after carrying it any distance. Sold it to a cousin for $25. He's happy and now I am happy too. Thanks for the suggestions.
