I picked up a MN the other day but my old eyes just wont do the iron sights and I want to scope it.
What mts do you guys recomend or not recomend? I am not a pureist (sorry) , non bubbafied custom is my style of choice. So I dont mind changing things a bit as long as it looks and works good. I have heard of a Jmeck mt or something like that but cant find one.
Thanks in advance!!....Buck

On my M38, went for the scout scope - not many mods to get it working and seems to do right well for me.

Check on www.gunandgame.com for the Jmeck mount. You should find something in the military rifle section under Mosin Nagant.

I bought out the old stock of Tapco AR15 scope mount risers to use for making 91/30 scope mounts.

But this rifle was for someone else. He got an Advanced Technology scope mounting system.

I threw away the bolt handle, and we welded some mild steel on the original bolt handle.

But we used the scope mount, instead of doing mill work on a AR riser.
He got a Boyd's stock.
He had one of those goofy ball triggers [should get a Timny trigger]
I drilled and tapped and pillar bedded the stock.

I took my 91/30s and my M39 to the range with it.
My guns shot great, but the 91/59 pictured above has a corroded out bore, and shoots like it.

Now I need to rebarrel it before I give it to the guy.
