replacement barrels

I know this sounds kind of dumb to alot of you but a friend has a bunch of barrels that he got in a buyout mostly takeoff 700 rem bbls and a couple of others that I am not sure of but I would like to rebarrel a couple of old mausers I have , can I use these barrels does it matter with the thread etc or can they be rethreaded etc . Mausers are a mixed variety some turks one spanish large ring . all have been either sporterized with a hacksaw and a hammer or hav e sewer pipe barrels. thanks for any help

Those barrels should be perfectly fine for what you want to do. You'll need to find someone to alter the threading to match the receivers and rechamber but the barrels themselves should be fine. Not a dumb question at all.

After you have chosen your project barrels, I bet some of them could find new homes here. :-D
