Asked for wheel weights at another tire store.

They said that they did not have any.

I mentioned what about the old weights that they took off while mounting new tires.

The manager then remembered a bucket he had set aside for someone who had not come in to pick them up. :bigsmyl2:

Just got done smelting Fridays score. Ended up with 135 wheel weight ingots and 25 range scrap ingots. I've got some more range scrap to do yet that should be about another 25 ingots. This puts me just over 500 lbs in my stash now.

Well, it looks like I'm going to have to come to your part of the state.

If only I were half that lucky. I've been lucky to total 30 pounds of ingots from several months of hunting. Most of the 9 pounds of clipons in that were from finding them on the road while I'm out running. I got almost 20 pounds of stickon when I picked up a pair of tires from a shop, the rest was junk like steel and zinc. That was the only lead I scored in quite a few trips to tire shops.

Has anyone ever checked with any motorcycle shops? Was just thinking that they change tires and use a lot of stick on weights. They do use some clip ons, but they are very small. Might be worth looking into.

Well that's OK..................I'll just make a drive through on my way up to Nebraska when visiting my folks. You'll never know I was there, well other than all the lead being gone. :)
