Maybe I've put this thread in the wrong place....
I really want a howdah pistol, but they're pricey. So It occured to me that I could take a break open dbl shotgun (I know where to find a 20 gauge with one barrel ruined 15 inches out) and have the chambers threaded, then machine breechplugs with #11 primer nipples (or 209's for that matter). Then the rest is mostly cosmetics with the only fabricating being the ramrod and it's holder.
I'm going to have to ask BATFE as to if I can permanently modify a shotgun and thereby have it classified as a muzzleloader. Otherwise I'd be creating a SBS (which I don't want to do).
Anyone ever tried to convert a shotgun to muzzleloader?
