I finaly did some long range work with the BTS 44 from 40.
At 50 yards with canalure I got 2" groups, And 4" WO/canalure.
I drew a deer tag this year, Its verry hard to get one arround here. Its been two years since I got to go deer hunting.
I am a handgun hunter and am takeing my .44 mag Ruger Bisley hunter and its loaded with BTS BOOLITS!!
I leave in the morning!! I have two of my yung'ens to guied for before Its my turn to shoot (sometimes its hard to be dad. LOL)
If I get to get my gun dirty I will post pics> WISH US LUCK!!! Thanks...Buck [smilie=w:

I wonder if this is due to a slight expansion around each side of the canalure, making a tigher bore seal. If that's the case, I wonder if you'd get increased velocity too ?
Jon

PS: Good luck

My thoughts too.

The other possible explination is that heavy loaded rounds with slow burning powder require a good bullet pull/resistance to get the powder burning or you get erractic burn and resulting erratic velocities which cause inaccuracy. A cannelure permits a proper crimp resulting in more consistent velocities due to contant powder burn.

Well no luck, at least for my gun. I managed put the boys each on a nice one , the oldest 16 yrs old got a darn nice 8 point. Then the well ran dry so I will have to wait a bit more.
I wouldnt change it at all as I have had more than my share of excitement over the years......... OH TO BE YOUNG AGAIN !! Buck
