The lee 310gr looks almost good enough to shoot again.

What was your alloy? Straight WW or what?

I cast some 240 gr swc 44 mag. the lead is babbit that my grandpa used to pour huge bearings for rubber machines back in the 50's and 60's. we hot loaded some rounds and shot them into some big pine wood blocks used for landscaping. all that happened to them was the sharp edges got rounded and got sorta polished.
the stuff must be super hard. I'm wondering if i even need to lube them?
has anyone reading this, ever shot really hard bullets without lube?

Those boolits look good to me. They have retained original shape and the GG's have held up.

I use WW with a touch of tin.
I was suprised the devestator opened up at all. I was working up loads of RL7 and couldn't get velocity over 1000 fps @ muzzle. I read up on RL7 in 44 for long barrels (mine's 10"). RL7 actually gets slower when you try to compress it. And it burns less complete(less air?).
The boolits are shot through a heavy reinforced rubber mat (truck mud flap materiel) @ 50yrds and I found some buried in the dirt @ 100.
The FMJ was from where I bought a 100 pack at wallyworld to shoot for the brass.

I've used straight #4 Nickle Babbitt for years, but always lubed it..
