First time swager and customer of mine sent me these photos. I was so impressed I had to post the results with his permision of course. I really enjoy seeing results like this. Somthing about before and after pics especially recovered bullet pics I think is very cool.

ANyway really goes to show potential of these bullets. It was made from 40 S&W brass of course from one of my one step dies.

Bullet info

Starting weight: ~248.5gr
Recovered weight: 245.0gr
Round: .44 Rem. Mag.
Load: 10.3gr Unique

The core was an alloy of lead and antimony. Bullet was recover from sand bank.

These bullets continue to impress me. I can't imagine anyone that is at all interested in making their own not jumping on board with the results we are getting.

Hope to get some feild results some day from some of the 44 custom shooters out there. I know of a couple coyotes that where turned inside out, maybe a couple rabbits, eventually some bigger game are going to fall from bullets like this. Ofcourse elk hunter and others have been doing this for years and many animals have probably fallen from home made. I'm just pleased to see everyone doing so well with this hobby. Swage On guys!

WOW! Those are great shots. I've got to get my camera down and share some of the results I've been getting with my .45 Bullets made from .40 S&W cases.

I've got some 283 grain .45 hollow points I want to load in my .45 AR, but need to find a good load for that weight bullet. No problem for the .45 Colt or .454 Casul but getting them in a S&W 625 safely is the problem. I was extrapolating using 4.0 grains of Red Dot but can't find any data on that particular load. Seems no one likes to use a heavy bullet in a S&W 625. I don't need a hot load, just something around the 750 to 800 FPS range. :hijack::swagemine:

Don't see much 45 Auto Rim anymore. I shot a lot of in in the early 70's.

For a heavy bullet in that case, I would stay away from the fast powder like Red Dot.

Speer shows a 260 grain JHP in a 45AR case on top of 8.0 grains of Blue Dot for 650 FPS.
They show a MAX load of 4.6 grains of Red Dot - with "DNR" on the line right below it. Too froggy for me.

Ackley shows a Unique load for the 45 ACP case with a 255 grain bullet - 6.0 grains @ 840 fps.

If I plug the 45 AR case into LFAD, and use the 300 gr XTP, it recommends 2400 or W296 powders. 8.0 grains of either one as a 75% density load. LFAD is a computer program, and those loads are produced from formulas - neither one has been fired in a test barrel.

Impressive weight retention, and fairly concentric, looks good!
