I picked up a pound of Herco to try in my two S&W 45 Colts. I am also thinking of trying the Lee 452-255-RF. I am interested in hearing your experience with both these. They do not have to used together just your experience with each. Thanks.

Well I can tell you on the Lee 452-255-RF, I have yet to meet a caster that dose not have one if they shoot 45LC. I my self shoot them and find them to work well in my colt and rossi leaver.

As for the Herco, I have never used it, so I do not know.:-(

Get the 6 cavity, they seem to be better made for some reason over the two cavity.

Why, I do not know.

I've burned a fairly large quantity of Herco in .45Colt, 7.5 inch Blackhawk. Bullseye also gets lots of use. 7.5 grains Bullseye or 10 grains Herco, gets roughly 1000 fps with my 454424 and 454190. For middle of the road loads, Herco is a great choice for .45 Colt.

I found the 454424 far outshoots the Lee255 in my gun. Mine was sold years ago. i like herco in the 45 Colt with book loads.
