magnum primers

an fellow give me 1k of CCI LR magnum primers,is safe to use in standard load
with a little powder in less?

Yes, reduce powder charge and work back up looking for pressure signs.

If your load is a standard load then you don't have to back down on your charge. If your max load is 25 grains with a magnum primer and you are loading say 20 grains of powder with standard primers then you can just exchange them. If your load is 23 or 24 grains with standard primers then you need to back off the load.
