Do a search for powder burn rate. There are several charts available on line. Look for the one closest to it on the chart.
Probably something like 4756, just a guess though.

It wouldn't be a direct grain-for-grain replacement, but I would try SR4756. It is finer grained(flake) and cleaner burning. Hodgon's chart lists both SR7625 and 800X as closer to Unique in burn rate, but I would still try SR4756 instead of those.

Another powder I would try would be Hogdon Universal. It is a fine grained (flake) and clean burning.

Just a curiosity question. Is it easier to get IMR in Canada?

No it it is not easier to get IMR powder in Canada! Made here sent south and we get the "surplus" from the U/S market @ near $40.00 per lb !:(:(:( But thanks for asking .

I use 4227 to replace 2400 in cast loads as I can get 4227 from Higginson's cheaper. Under that bullet I found 19 gr and 23 grains to give me the best results in my rifle. Bullets sized .313 and soft lubed using gas checks.

Take Care

It really depends.3 years ago I couldn't find any IMR powders anywhere near Toronto,Hodgdon was no problem. As of now I can get IMR but some of Hodgdon grades vanished for so long i had to look into replacements.
I was looking for 8lbs container of Alliant Promo-I found only ONE place in Vancouver
selling it.
I think it all depends very much on location, dealer, time of the month or God knows what else...It's very unpredictable.

Hey Jeff, post a larger version of your avatar, I can't quite tell if that's a scruff of the neck or by the ears hold the little one has on the littler one. I got a kick out of it without being able to see it too well, but I'll bet the look on the kid's face is one of those priceless ones! They start with the bunnies, next it's snakes and crocs!
