I have a H&R Pardner in 20ga and I want to get the rifled bull barrel for it. Is it worth the 120 to get it plus shipping??? What other barrels can be fitted to the shotgun reciever?? I know the other shotgun barrels and the ML barrels, but are there any more?? I have heard of people talking about getting the .357 and .44mag barrels for it, but are these rumors true?

I believe that H&R uses two different steels for the shotgun and rifle. Could be wrong here also.
Shotgun shells are not normally what one would call high pressure. 11,000 psi or in that area. However when rifle cartridges are concerned 50,000 and up. You definitely not want touch an '06 cartridge off in a shotgun receiver proofed at shotgun pressures. Hope this helps. Frank

If the frame isn't too old, they will fit a 357 or 44 barrel to it. I do not know what the cutoff year is, but if it's more than a couple of years old they won't do it.

Personally, IMO, with the current cost of barrels through the accessory barrel program, it isn't worth it to get them. If you are interested in a 357 and 20 gauge slug barrel, they sell a combo like that. Has an SB1 shotgun frame, a 20 gauge slug barrel and a 357 barrel. Synthetic stock. Bud's was selling them for $270 delivered to your dealer. Buy that and you get a complete gun for what you would pay for 2 barrels through the accessory program. Much better deal.

And, they are out of pretty much all barrels right at the moment, so you will be waiting a while for them to get in stock.

Yeah, My gun is an SB1 I believe. I want to be able to shoot sabots and mount a scope. I know they sell a Rifles Bull barrel for 20ga slugs, but its 118 plus shipping. I figured if I got the .44mag I could use hornady Leverevolution ammo and buy a scope from cabelas specially made for Leverevolution ammo. The ammo is in .35, 444, 44mag, .357mag, 30-30, and some other ones.

My 20 ga. Pardner shoots the cheapo Remington slugs into a nice small hole at 75 yds. Did I mention its not rifled? You may want to experiment with yours with the plain old slugs before buying any other barrel

Will it hurt the Mod choke on it?

IMHO: I wouldn't invest an additional $120 into an H&R. There are several good pump-guns out there that can be had for $300 or less new and a couple hundred on the used market. .02/YMMV

Mine is modified choke too, no problem shooting those Remington slugs at all and it cleans up very well. I don't shoot tons of them, but enough for practice before deer season and during the season for hunting.
the only thing I would add to mine is a 357 mag barrel if I can ever find one used!
You can look at go2gbo.com and scroll down to the subforum for H&R/NEF where there is a ton of info and a chart of year of manufacture and what barrels can be fitted to what years in one of the stickies.
I had mine drilled and tapped for a scope too, enough material in the 20 ga. barrel to do it.

Well, I can have my arisaka D&T and have a new bolt handle put on for 125 without bases and rings and my scope. I was thinking about just putting a Lyman 57 rear sight put on it, but I'd rather have a scope.
