Does anyone make triggers for the Arisaka Type 99's? IIRC someone had a Timney trigger on their Arisaka. If you know anything about it let me know.

I got mine from Brownells. It was a Timmney and was a saftey and trigger together.
Mine was a type 38, but I believe they had type 99 also.
Hope that helps.

Midway has one for the 99, I checked Timney's website, and they only show one for the type 38, so what Midway has must be old stock. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=184056

Ok, I am just considering my options. I'll have to see what a trigger job costs. I have a buddy thats a gunsmith. I am gonna have him D&T for either a Lyman 57 peep or a scope. He said for a scope and getting a new bolt handle would be 125 total.

most hubers i've seen have been about 75-100 or so. and the timneys run 45-90.

To use a Timney on your Type 99 Arisaka, you are going to have to do some cutting on the bottom of the receiver to allow the Timney to work. Once you cut the receiver bottom for the Timney to work, the issued trigger or a Huber will not work.

So basically, the Timney may be cheaper but its a one way street and may cost more to get the Timney to work properly.

I've got Timneys on both a T38 and a T99. Both were only because the original triggers were horrible and I still have to tweak the triggers every once in a while to make sure the trigger works 100%.

So the hubers are a "drop in fit"

Actually, I have an old Timney trigger that I got in a trade a while back with the intention of putting it on my Type 38 Arisaka. It is marked on the side "7.7" which I assume means it is for the 7.7 Arisaka. Looking at it I could see that it was not going to work on the 6.5 with out a lot of work if at all and put it in a drawer. My Arisaka has a very hard trigger pull and is a really nice sporter except for that and the awkward safety. I'm interested is possibly selling this one off to get the proper one if there is any interest. I guess maybe a pm message would be the way to get my attention. Thanks

Trigger is no longer available.
