hi .
i use 12gns of T.B with 405gn cast boolits and it s a good load in my trapdoor ,
the hogden load data lists 12 start and 13 max for 405gn and it lists 8start and 10 max for 485gn boolits ,now i have just cast some lee 450gns so what would be a good compromise for this size, / will the 485 data be ok for the 450gn(8---10)? thanks .

485 gr. data should work just fine for the lighter 450 gr. bullet.

Trail boss is rather unique. The magic number is 70% of the space left after seating the boolit. Measure how far you'll be seating the boolit into the case. Fill the case up to that point. (Calipers locked to the length of the boolit that will be inside the case, and then use the depth probe inside the case to measure) Once you have the case filled up to that point. Weigh it. Multiply that by .70 and you should have the sweet spot(70%).

Important thing with Trail Boss. NEVER COMPRESS IT.

FWIW, I use 10Gr with my lee 450 and lee 500.

I'm using 19 gr in my 45/70 under 350gr paper patched bullet out of my 1895 Marlin.
