When I got my in-line ML I cast a 100 conical bullets and an equal amount of RBs. My buddy told me that was plenty because it'd take me a year to shoot that many.
Yeah sure it would!! I ran out in 3 months and just had to cast 200 more. These muzzle loaders are more addictive then the casting is. :groner:

I agree. Since I have 500 lbs of lead I got for free it only costs 18 cents a shot to shoot so a full afternoon at the range is maybe $10, shooting 5 hours straight.

I just bought my 3rd Muzzleloader, A T/C Renegade .50Cal. Already have a flintlock and an inline.

We were shooting shotguns but in a week at Friendship we (my two sons and I ) went through 11 pounds of powder, 55 pounds of shot and 1100 caps. I was shooting flint. All told it worked out well as I never had to spend money on bail bonds.

A pint storage box of RB will keep my grandsons out of meaness for most of an afternoon.

Try cap and ball revolver and see how fast you go through 100 RBs. Luckly I'm able to retrieve my spent lead.

I have a C&B and you're right. You can dump a lot of lead with those. LOL
