I was loading some GC 30-06 with 14 gr Unique when I noticed that somewhere along the line I had bumped the scale and loaded some light charges. Mixed brass so cannot tell by weight which ones. Pulled a few of the boolits to empty the cases but the GC sticks in the case neck. Do I need to trash the cases or is there a solution to get that GC out?

I use a bamboo skewer to tip it sideways and then reach in with tweezers or hemostat to grab it and remove.

I have a very fine pair of needle nose for that task.
Even if you hapen to push the GC right into the case it is still retrievable with either the tweezers or needle nose pliers as after you tip out the powder you can tip the case neck down and with a bit of a shake can get the GC to sit on an egde for catching.

How much lighter? Maybe you can just shoot them as is with out going through that work.

I normally push the GC all the way in, slightly squeeze the neck and dump it out through the slightly elongated neck. A trip through a neck sizing die fixes the case for the next reload.

The fishing out with tweezer method drives me nuts./beagle

Beagle--

I read your solution to this little annoyance and said "DUH!" to myself. I've resolved it by opening the case mouth to the next size up--an 8mm M-die into the 30-06 case, for example. Your method makes a ton more sense, and is a lot less work. Thank you!
