That is as cheap as powder has been in a long time. And it is NEW!!

Years ago I purchased some Accurate Data powder equivalent to AA#5. The vendor said it was made in Czechoslovakia. I wish I had more of it. Great powder that looked, metered, measured, and performed like canister AA #5. At the time $8 a pound in a 6# jug

I have 8lbs of that. We dubbed it AA#6. Great powder, but it is a little dirty. I dont care much about that because of the good price.

Jeff's website is down right now. What are the designations for the new powders?

Nothing a little Hoppe's or Ed's Red can't cure. ;-)

IPP This is a commercial ball type powder, known as industrial pistol powder.
Can be loaded using Alliant (Hercules) Unique data. Ideal for many pistol
and shotgun loads.
This is new ball powder. $55/5# jug.
How can a Ball powder be the same as a double base flake powder?

Russian Russian made for loading the 7.62x39. This is a small, fine grained extruded
4759 type powder, that can be loaded using SR4759 load data. Also works great in
.30 Carbine.
This is pull down powder. $100/8# jug.
How close is this to sr4759? Does it have the holes also?
Would it be as suitable to 45-70 as the original sr4759?

I can't get in touch with Jeff, so i cant answer. Several years ago I puchased a good supply of SR 7641 better known as SR 4759 clone. That was bulky, and sold in 6# jugs. For my last purchase before he ran out, I had him top off the jugs and price accordingly. He squeezed in 7#.

That being said, the new powder is sold in 8# jugs. THis would suggest that the powder is less dense and/or smaller grained. Would it fill a case to more volume??

Seems like I have the same questions as you. I used Bartlett 4759 clone in '06, .30-40 Krag, and .30-30 Winchester with fine results.

I am assuming that the burn rate it the same.
I am awaiting a answer because I want to order 20#'s of it myself.

I would assume it is a burn rate match kinda like SR7625 is a single based unique replacement.
