I am looking at getting a mold in .30 cal. that is heavy. I mean 200 Gr. or heavier. Whats Youre Favourite? I was thinking eighther a Lyman 311299, or 311284. This boolit will be used in a .30-06 bolt gun and a Garand. If it is fat enough, maybe even a .303 Lee Enfield.

..............The old 311284. If you can find an old Ideal version it might be large enough to use in the .303.

The 314299 would be a better bet than the 311299 as that could fit your .303" and could be sized down for 30 cal use.

You may also want to look at Scifi Jims 311365 spire point GB, its here: http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=80372

Also any of the fat Loverins GBs that Buckshot and others have run would be good if you can find them however they might be a tad on the light side for your needs.

Its just that I like Loverins they alwats seem to work all other things being equal.

I'm planning to order a mold from CBE for my various .303s, and it can always do double duty in my .30s. That way, I know that it will cast large enough!

I agree with Buckshot and the 284. Had him HP mine, and IF, I was to ever need a dark timber 30-06 blt, this would be it. Mine mikes .312 as it drops, but could easilly be beagled I think up to .313, but my SMLE is .315.

I run the Lee 200 gr in my Garand and have great results. If money were no issue, I would be inclined to get a 311284, but I am too cheap to pay for a Lyman mold.

311299 for .30s, 314299 for .31s or worn .30s.

I'm using the Saeco #301 in my Rem 700 30-06, and the Lyman 311644 in my 7.5x55s. Both weigh right at 200gr with GC and lube, but neither would be large enough for a .303 Brit.

1 more 311284. If I do my part will shoot into < 3" at 200 yds out of my Krag.

I'm with dromia. My favorite 30 cal heavy is the 314299 for '06 in both the 03 and 03A3 Springfield. Don't have a 303 so dunno about it.

Thanks for the reply's Guy's. I am now leaning towards the .311284 group buy, that Blammer is running. This group buy is going to have a .312 dia. bullet. That would work for my .30-06's and 2 of my 3 Enfields. The other Enfield is a 2 groove that slugs out at .314
