What kind of scope do you use with a scout mount??? I like the looks of it, but I always thought you used a regular scope, do you? I dont own a lever gun, just figured I'd ask.

A scout rifle (scope forward) requires a "long eye relief" scope.

A regular scope won't have enough eye relief, like EOD3 said you neer a LER scope. I have a couple of the Leupold FXIIs but Burris makes something similar. Some guys have even used pistol scopes with varying success.

How do you like the peep sight combined with a "firesite"?

Scout scope is the way to go. I tried a handgun scope at first, but not enough of a "sweet spot", you had to get your face planted just right. A true scout scope makes for easy aquisition, both eyes open.

Here's a Leupold FX II which is really nice for the job at hand.

Scout scopes are limited and some prefer a variable scope for legitimate reasons, but IMO if you want the advantages of a scout scope, they are worth it.
