................Speaking of holes, back in the day when Polock jokes were simply 'swell' I recall one about the telephone company needing a couple new teams to set telephone poles. They were going to be having a competition with 4 men per team. The rules were simple, as all you had to do was set as many poles as possible in 8 hours.

At the end of the competition the boss asked the foreman how many each team set, and he was expecting good numbers from the Polocks because they looked whipped and could barely stand. He'd replied with numbers like 16, 14, 16, 15, and then 5 for the Polocks. So the boss says, "All you guys did was 5 holes, what in the heck did you do all day? The head Polock said he figured they did a pretty fantastic job, because you should have seen how much the other teams left sticking up out of the ground.

speakin of hand cannons ...anyone got a load for a .375 round ball in a 375 jdj ? ( just for giggles and fire forming tho they say the latter isnt needed )

I am not sure what the 375 jdj is, but I would probably do like I do for all round ball loads I have tried and start out with a low charge of Unique and work up till I got good fill out on the case and/or good speed/accuracy.

I have worked up a 2 ball load for my 44 Mag, need to test it for grouping yet.
I just got my .457 round ball mould so I need to cast some of them and see if I can fit 3 in the 458 WM and then try it.

Why do we call them round balls, why not just call them "balls" since balls are round are they not? [smilie=l:

eh "the load" would work ... i've found on the larger cases with lite boolits ( like this ) that fire forming with even 10-12 grains of unique can be "iffy" at best , a wad would help but ...it also raises pressure , and yup if the powder is against the boolit it doesnt do as good as if the powder is against the primer

what i really came back for was to add this bit of google foo ... ( google rocks -ermmm mostly )

Illusive??? As in Illusion? Or, Elusive, as in hard to keep track of?

Now in cooking recipes.

fryboy
10-25-2010, 10:49 PM
" Adj. 1. illusive - based on or having the nature of an illusion; "illusive hopes of finding a better job"; "Secret activities offer presidents the alluring but often illusory promise that they can achieve foreign policy goals without the bothersome debate and open decision that are staples of democracy"
illusory
unreal - lacking in reality or substance or genuineness; not corresponding to acknowledged facts or criteria; "ghosts and other unreal entities"; "unreal propaganda serving as news" "

so what's cookin' ? 'round here tonite it's fry's raisin rye bread ( god the smell drives a man ) developed the recipe me own self

Fry's raisin rye ( aka cinnamon raisin ) bread machine method

Makes 1 Loaf
1-Pound Loaf * 1 1/2-Pound Loaf ~ 2-Pound Loaf
Water (70 to 80oF) 3/4 cup *1 cup + 2 Tbsp ~1-1/3 cup
Salt 3/4 tsp *1 tsp ~1 1/2 tsp
Butter or Margarine 1 Tbsp *1 1/2 Tbsp ~2 Tbsp
Bread flour 1 1/2 cups, *2 1/3 cups ~ 3 cups
Rye flour 1/2 cup *2/3 cups ~ 1 cup
Dry Milk Powder 4 tsp *2 Tbsp ~3 Tbsp
Sugar 4 tsp *2 Tbsp ~3 Tbsp
Ground cinnamon 1 1/2 tsp *2 tsp ~2 1/2 tsp
FLEISCHMANN'S
Bread Machine Yeast 1-1/2 tsp *1 1/2 tsp ~ 1-1/2 tsp
Raisins 3/4 cup *1 cup ~1 1/3 cup

Directions
(1 1/2 # works best )
Measure all ingredients except raisins into bread machine pan in the order that the bread machine manufacturer suggests. Add raisins at the time of the raisin/nut beep or 5 to 10 minutes before last kneading stops.

Select Basic/White bread cycle; use medium /normal crust color setting.

Remove bread from pan; cool on a wire rack.

edit for word wrap or somethin' ... the lines didnt want to show up so ..i edited it " * " is for 1 1/2 pound loaf and " ~ " is for a 2 pound loaf ( geez it worked over here .... )

That Train was old 97 outside Danville VA and they wrote a song about it. Unfortunatly the PC police have changed the more recent versions because apparently you can no longer say you have a "...black greasy fireman..."

The song became the first million selling record in the United States. Here is more about the wreck and song.

A man staggered into a hospital with a concussion, multiple bruises, two black eyes, and a five iron wrapped tightly around his throat.
Naturally the doctor asked him, 'What happened to you?'

'Well, I was having a quiet round of golf with my wife, when at a difficult hole, we both sliced our balls into a cow pasture.'

We went to look for them and while I was looking around I noticed one of the cows had something white at its rear end.'

'I walked over, lifted its tail, and sure enough, there was a golf ball with my wife's monogram on it - stuck right in the middle of the cow's butt.'

Still holding the cow's tail up, I yelled to my wife, 'Hey, this looks like yours!'

'I don't remember much after that...

'Retired...twice. Now, just raisin' cows and livin' on borrowed time.

Fry, sorry to hear of your troubles, thoughts and prayers going out to you and your family. I had seen your post earlier. I hope this thread might add a bit of distraction and a tiny bit of light humor to your day.

one cant deny that times like this are what ever they are , the lil sonnet ..has both in it , and all things considered it could of been much worse , the main thing is that she's finally free and past her personal demons , in a way if u know the history of my family name it's fitting that it was on a fryday as fry originally meant one who was free ( also part of my love for fryday because in years past fryday was the freeday much as some have saturday now ) my humble thanx amigo
more than u guys know u did help ...i havent been worth much today and i've aimlessy wandered thru our hallowed halls , i've started a few things and just had to go do something else - thanx for being part of that something else ! to me the train wreck pic actually fit and when i first saw it i said "yup that about sums up it up "

and since it has moved since i first started typing this i'll still throw out the joke i had in mind when i seen where it was at , it's called personal ;)

PERSONAL

At a rape trial the young victim was asked by the D.A. what the defendant said before the alleged assault. Too embarrassed to answer aloud, the victim asked if she could write out the answer, after reading the note the judge instructed the jury foreman to read it and pass it among the rest of the jurors.

One juror, who had dozed off, was nudged by the woman juror sitting next to him. He took the note from her and read, "I'm going to shag you like you've never been shagged before." The juror smiled at the woman and slipped the note in his pocket.

"Will juror number 12 please pass the note to me!" ordered the judge.

"I can't, Your Honor," the juror answered. "It's personal.

The old time BP target shooters would use a sawn off section of a log as a backstop. when the center was shot up they threw it on the fire and salvaged the lead that melted out of it.

Distance? I dunno ? about halfway ?

the 200 yard berm with tractor tires is not done.
tractor tires are filled with soil and the finished berm
will be completely covered with soil and vegetation.
plywood in front for stapling paper targets.

BTW, Our club has a C.U.P (conditional use permit)

Owner walked out with a lyman press six station I just made a comment like hey your selling a used press. He answered yea 10 bucks then went to make a tag for it, I told him no need for the tag I take it. It had dies in in Lyman 30/06 two dies RCBS 44 carbide sizer and one 7/39 sizer. The press needed alittle work handle is messed up but I can use the one out of my RCBS and it was missing some spacer washers and pin but after some shop time its ready to be mounted. Problem is finding a spot to mount it. Oh I picked up that pistol also.

Something must have got broken on it- it's still in Cast Boolits.... The GPS broke...

And I lucked out and found a real heavily framed turkey fryer for $32 at a garage sale yesterday. And now it is cool enough to start smelting again.

Awe shucks... I never win anything.

I'm betting there's no prize though.

I like cast boolits.
They make things better.
I also like good deals. Haiku.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to make any yard sale "scores". But I did find a piece of thin wall brass tubing that has an I.D. of .455" that makes a good cookie cutter for my .45 ACP boolits.

I would say IBTL, but I think IBTM is more likely. That way it will be easier to keep track of.
Also adds to my post count on the way to my second boolit.

I got the new hammer fitted last night into a gun I plan to trade or sell. I hate that gun. I have no idea why I got it in the first place, other than it was cheap. But it's been nothing but headaches since I bought it.

I'm hungry again.

Sorry I've been remiss about moving this more frequently. Dishwasher quit working, alternator went out on my wife's vehicle and night before last the DSL modem packed it up. <sigh>

Are we having fun yet? The car and modem are fixed, still have to attack the dishwasher.
