This may seem silly but i'm trying to figure out wich way to move my rear sight. Its playin with my head. My gun shoots 3in high and 2 in. right at about 30 ft. I can easily comp for elevation but wich way should i slide the rear sight to pull it left?

thanx!

Easy rule of thumb-- move the rear sight in the direction you want the bullet strike to move.

You can replace your front sight with a taller one to adjust the vertical POI.

I have done this on a dozen 1911's, I even made a 1911 sight staking tool from A2 tool steel and had it heat treated to 60 RC.

I always remember it this way "FORS" front opposite, rear same. So, front sight adjustments (battle rifles etc) go the opposite, lets say shooting 5" high at 100, you need to change POI down, front sight goes up. Opposite for rear sights, to move POI down, right or left, move the sight in the same direction you need POI to be. "FORS" Shooting high, move rear down, shooting left, move rear sight right etc.
