Folks,

What does the canister SR-4759 look like??
My current supply is a surplus SR-7641 better known as SR-4759 Clone.

The grains are a short, brassy colored rod with a hole in the center, that are as long as they are wide. Is commercial cansister SR-4759 the of the same appearance, or is more like the black grains of 4227??

Let me know will you folks??

Thanks!!

My canister IMR SR4759 fits the description of your suplus stuff with the exception of color. It's almost black.

Just happen to have a can of each sitting on the bench. I wouldn't use appearance to positively ID a powder though. Powder on left is Dupont 4759, powder on right is Dupont 4227.

Didn't plan on a visual for I.D.
Your pictures helped a lot. 4759 is a bulkier powder. I'll use the canster 4759 as my replacement.

I did load up some '06 with 4227 yesterday and plan a trip to the range today. Chronograph will be with me for documentation.

Thanks!!
