This is really off topic, but......I have a Lee lead pot and I need to melt sealing wax to seal some wine bottles. With the Lee pot , will it get too hot to do this job?
Thx,

Lee pots vary widely in the temperatures the "thermostat" delivers. The pot has the potential to heat the wax hot enough to ignite. I think I'd go with a double boiler.

Ditto. Study up on the task you want accomplished. Use the proper tools and techniques. [smilie=b:

I do not think that it will work out. The pot walls get extremely hot and wax needs to melt slowly. Best to use a burner on low for that.

as stated bad idea , they ( or mine ) seem to run between 400 and 900-ish , worse the top isnt set up to easily smother it in case of fire ( such as a big pan with a smaller one in it ) a crock pot will work tho or a fondue dipper i'd imagine ( both also have lids btw lolz )
