I recently purchased a .43 Spanish RB. I'm having the barrel dovetailed and I would like to purchase a Lyman 17a front sight. Upon looking at sites that sell the Lyman I have notice that they come in different heights.

Possibly in the future I may purchase a mid range sight. Will the purchase of the mid range determine what height I need to buy now and if so which height would I use on the RB

If you contact Lyman, they will give you a good start point on the height.
With my Mauser, I needed a 17AUG, rather than the one they reccomended. They came close though.

With the drop on a RB I would think that you would want the lowest sight that you can find, otherwise you will need to raise your cheek up off of the stock to get a sight picture.
