Ruger worth ?

A friend called me to ask what a Ruger Blackhawk is worth? I told him I didn't have any knowledge on pistols and revolvers, not much of a pistolero. He traded for a New model reproduction Flat top .357 Mag. with a six inch barrel, the lock up is tight bore is very good, the outside is 95% as it has some holster wear, no track on cylinder, it has a set of ivory handles on it but they are nice but not real ivory.
Why I ask he wants to trade me for my Taurus 450 (45 Colt) five shot revolver with a two inch ported barrel. I am not attached to the Taurus even though it shoots fine for a carry gun, not real accurate past 15 yds but wasn't meant to be with that short barrel. Here is what it looks like.

I agree, trade him fast before he changes his mind. I believe you will like it and if you don't you certainly will get more for it than the Tarus in an out right sale or as a trade in.

I think this is one of those once in a lifetime trades where it is okay to let a 45 go for a 357. :)

Actually there isn't a gun in the world worth a good friend, so as much as I hate to say it, I would tell him the truth!

However if you didn't know him, thats a different scenario!

We had talked on the phone and he said I need any kind of 22 rifle and the Taurus, well my son has a simi auto Winchester that was given to me to throw away, well I fixed it and gave it to my son. He said sure you can have it back it doesn't shoot well any how. Well I got over to the friends house and I had the Taurus and 150 rounds of ammo and the 22. When he saw the Taurus he grabbed it and said this is enough I love it. So he is happy I am happy and still have the 22.

Not a bad trade and the 357 will do you as a good plinker or can be loaded up to the magnum level to do some nice work on thin skinned game.

around here that ruger is worth about 400 used and your gun about half of that so id jump fast.
