where can i get a forend cap with the sling swivel attached for my 1895 cowboy?i carried it with no sling last year.its not bad till your trying to drag a deer a mile.i looked in brownells but did not find it,but maybe i am not lookin for the right part name.

You might want to try Numrich and search for Marlin 1895CB. I was going to suggest the 1895S or 1895SS, but you have the octagon barrel.

Another idea would be to drill and tap your existing cap for the stud, or get the one that fits on the magazine tube. This stuff was available from Uncle Mike's.

I was trying to do the same thing.
And when I came across a mag tube sling swivel that said
Fits all Marlins, they lied![smilie=b:
For I have a 45-70 CB and the clamp does not fit.
So I had to cut the ring in half.:mad:
Then I found a socket that mesured .700 OD.
Witch is the same size as the mag tube.
So I clamped the ring around the socket
and heated it with a tourch.
Then let it cool on the socket.
When you finish it it is now .700 ID.
Then I drilled and added the other sling swivel to the stock.[smilie=w:
