Like most of you here, I have the assortment of case belling dies. I use a Lyman M die for the 7.62 x 54, an RCBS belling die for the Krag and I also have a Lee die with the two pins. Once they're set I don't like messing with them.

I was reloading some 7mm Mauser shells the other day and figured I have to readjust the Lee die for them. I was looking the dies over and took out a Lee 30-40 Krag case sizing die that had a broken decapping pin and on a lark and ran the case up onto the expanding pin and it worked very well. The long gradual taper opened up the case easily. Once the die was set belling proceeded quickly.

I'm sure other combinations can be found among the Lee die sets, maybe 8mm for 30 cals. etc.

I though about using a spacer like the kind that come with 38spl/357mag and 44spl/44mag if the die was set for the short case and use a spacer for the long case.

I'm using a 7mm Rem Mag die to bell 250 Savage. Works excellent.

G,day
.32 S&W Long carbide sizing die works great on both .303 &.308 for neck sizing, the belling die in the set is perfect for cast in the .303 and fine for J word pill in the .308.

Later Mal in au.

Heh, some posters complain "you didn't use the search feature" and others complain when you post on old topics. Can't win around here some times.
