I just hope they take off and the price comes down, and they work. I had an original that I could not make cycle reliably. Other than that I really like the gun.

It seems like these have never been popular enough to stay in production but to popular to completely stay away. Look's like it would be a fun gun to shoot but a bit on the expensive side. FB

They had some early issues, had a buddy with one that the barrel detent was not strong enough on and the barrel dis mounted under recoil!

Once we got that fixed it was fun to shoot but it was ammo sensative. Wish I had bought it from him and if these guys actually get into production I may have to go ito "hock" to get one.

I think that price will kill it right out of the starting gate.

Way outta my league. I can almost get 5 new Redhawks for similar money.

Yea I know. I'm hoping that the price is for the "first year" run. After that unless they drop their prices I think they're going to find themselves in a very limited market.

For that price the thing better be able to hit the 10x on an NRA smallbore target with my eyes closed @ 200 yards! :veryconfu [smilie=s:

Nope, at that price, I'm stickin' with my Redhawks and N-frames. You can get a good used RH for $500 and even an N-frame for $650-$700. Darn shame, because they look like they'd be great guns to shoot, and the original design spec for the chamber was 55,000 PSI, IIRC.

.50 Desert eagle with a 10" .44 mag barrel using necked down .50 brass should do anything that can (and then some). Heck, justa .44 mag Desert Iggle will. And while still costly - much less costly.

A friend had an original Auto-Mag, got rid of it after he found out that they could and would sometimes spit the bolt out the back at a very high velocity. Never could get it to shoot a full magazine without jamming. I would definitely require that they confirm the original problems has been resolved at that price.

How about that museum on Kodiak, AK? How many visitors a year will they be getting? Probably $300 a ticket too.

At least they are NOT taking deposits for guns that haven't been built yet, which was the downfall of the original company. Anybody know what the originals sold for? I'm thinking that five grand apiece might be about right if you factor in inflation.

Seems pretty pricey to me.

I bought mine new in 1976 for a little over $500.00.

i think that only equals about 1900 today according to inflation calculators.

I had one back in the 70s, had it stolen by a "gunsmith" in the early 80s. Accurate and worked
reliably with very hot loads (I was younger then. . . . ). I shot many 4" 5 shot
groups at 100 yds with stock gun. BIG hog. Wish I still had mine. Cost about $450
new in 1975 IIRC.
