Hey all, I have a Lee tumble lube 121grn .356" RN 9mm mold. My BHP needs a bullet dia of .358" to keep from lead the heck out of the bore. Believe it or not I've had very excellent success using a TL158grn RN for .38 but would like to be able to use a lighter bullet as well. Unfortunatly Lee doesn't make a TL RN bullet in the 120grn range in .358"

I've read were some folks have "beagled" a mold to make it throw a few thousanths bigger. Is it possible for me to do that with this .356" and how is it done? I'd like to stay with the TL design since I don't have a lubrisizer.

Any a all thoughts are welcomed!!

Thanks for guiding me to the info about "beagling" a mould. I used the aluminum tape trick on the 124grn .356" mould to bump it up to .358" and it worked great. I actually bumped it up to .360" so when I ran them through the push-thru sizer I knew that the base was prefectly round. I loaded some up and they're very accurate, and best of all no more leading! That was my main objective. Now I'm trying to decide whether I want to lap it permenently larger of just continue using it with the tape on it.

So thanks to all who led me in the right direction. Much appreciated!

I am unable to open the 'how to' article called
"Bullet diameter enlargement (Beagling)"
on the castpics.net

I get this error message:

Is the castpics site still up and running? When I try to look at the articles, they come up blank.

Just an fyi, you can tumble lube ant boolit, standard lube grooves or not. Lots of info already on that subject here.

Simple enough, you need some aluminium foil self adhesive tape and apply to one side of the mould as shown.
This method should increase the bullet diameter by about .003.
