Well there seems to be someone here that knows everything about scrounged metals (or at least someone whom thinks he does :) ) so i found some old german stein lids that have 94% zinn stamped into them. They are easily bent with bare hands and seem fairly soft. What is this stuff? any zinc in zinn? they would be better served in a batch of bullet alloy if they are zinkless.

"Zinn" means "tin" in German. Now ya know. Good luck.

Maybe zinc and tin make "tinc" instead of zinn. LOL.

Great! that means it's 94%tin... Now if i just knew what comprised the remaining 6%.

Probably mostly antimony and trace of copper . Generically speaking.

If pewter it is 6% copper. Good find if cheap!

Yep you got pewter, but it's sad to think of the broken krugs those lids came off of.:violin:
