I have one of these and it is real heavy and would like to re barrel it and get a composit stock for it. I got this gun real cheap. Does any one know who might make a stock for this old rifle? Any leads would be of great help. It says Montgomery ward right on the barrel. This gun must be old.

It's only relatively old if you're a youngster. A picture would be a great help. It could be a Remington, Winchester, Savage, Mauser, Sako...who knows?

I just stumbled into this:
http://proofhouse.com/cm/house_brand.htm
According to this web site (you'll have to scroll about five miles to the end .......... ) ...... it's a Mossberg 800A
Enjoy

http://www.rifle-stocks.com/actions_available.htm
Scroll down that link and you'll see they offer stocks for the 800A for an additional $25.00 set up fee.
I have no info available on that rifle here with me, but searching the older Gun Digests of the mid 1960's era may help you out.
