Does anybody have a source for .459-.460 round balls. This is for plinkers from a T/C 45/70 carbine. Thanks Kenrat

I don't know of any, but there is an individual in the development phase of multi cavity round ball molds.

And the .460" is on the list.

Time will tell.

I believe .458s aren't too hard to find. You might see if that is good enough.
I shoot boolits .457 and .458 thru my .45-70s all the time.

You could run a 0.490 ball through a sizing die. They end up as a rounded cylinder. You can buy swaged balls if you're not set to cast yet. A lee push-through sizer can be polished out a few thousandths if needed. Instructions for the polishing are in the CastPics forum linked at the bottom of the page.

.458's coated w/Lee mule snot work ok in my #1 particularly for 3 ball loads. Could beagle mold to 459 or 460 if you wanted. Fun loads to 25-35 yds.
