Dear Sirs,

I am new to the Boolits Forum.

I have been shooting my 1892 rifle and those cartridges are getting pretty rare.

Is anyone interested in Re loading 32-40 brass?

I would try it my self but I live in an apartment and I have no shop space.

I have been paying $2 a shot so I think it might be worth while.

you can get a lyman nutcracker tool and the dies and reload on a tv dinner tray

The tools about the size of a set of vise grips

or one of thier cheap c-presses which needs about a foot, and a box for everything else.
easily c=clamped to a table.
i started out in a 2x2 closet with an old school desk.

Sure you dont want to make that a Mod-94? Do as the others said get some LEE equipment and go at it, if you need help just ask.

What is a mod '94?
Is that altering the gun to shoot a readily available cartridge?

Sounds good!

I own the gun along with someone else ... so it is a group decision (not my wife)

Here's what he's talking about !

Winchester Model 1892's were chambered for the 32 WCF also know as the 32-20 .

Any older Winchester that was chambered for 32-40 would be a Model 1894 .

You just got your model designation wrong !

The Winchester 1892 action is a shorter action and will not accept the 32-40 or any 30-30 case length cartridges . Winchester Model 1892 and later versions of the same length action have only been chambered for the 218 Bee , 25-20 , 32-20 , 38-40 and 44-40 .

Older Winchester Model 1894's and later models of the same length action were chambered for 219 Zipper , 25-35 , 30-30 , 32-40 , 32 Special and 38-55 .

All of this pretains to Pre 1964 92 and 94 Winchester lever actions , not any of the less collectable stuff made in later years .

Get you a Lee hand press and you can load on the kitchen table or anywhere.

A Lee hand press, a Lee primer tool with a shell holder, a set of Lee dies with the powder scooper included, perhaps later on a trim set, a pound of IMR 4759 and 200 primers plus your old brass and a box of bullets and you are looking at about the cost of FOUR boxes of factory ammo. It wil fit in a shoe box (unless you have dainty tootsies). You can do it on your kitchen table. And you will find that it is very rewarding to drop a hammer on a bullet you assembled yourself.
