( i shoot left handed so the side mount is not an issue)

i'll go back to open or a peep, but till my catarac is fixed i'll put a scope on this for load development.

I have both, A 32 spl with the long rings ( 3x9x40) and a 30wcf with short( fixed 2x30). It depends on your scope......
And You may have issues with the side mount if you are a lefty, as the scope sits well to the left of center line.

I have a B-Square side mount that I took off a Ted Williams because it was almost easier to use it with my left eye, from the right shoulder. I seriously doubt that you will be comfortable firing a Model 94 from you left shoulder while using a side mount.

With that said, it has been my experience that the longer Weaver side mounts work bestter with straight tube scopes. With most of the long mounts that I have seen, you need to put the front ring where the objective bell begins on a 40mm objective scope.
