I broke down and got some 5 5 90 lead it will not do well to go into the lee pot as is so i am going to melt it down and put it my corn cob molds is there any steps that i should take to ensure i mess up this good lead thanks

Don't dip out the tin and antimony as dross, keep the heat down and it will separate out less, stir a bunch to keep it all together.

As Sam said, keep the heat low to prevent over-drossing, and use some sort of reducing agent (sawdust, wax, engine oil, whatever) to keep the grey scummy stuff turned back into the melt. When pouring ingots, as busy work waiting for the ingots to solidify, I like to stir the melt with a dry wooden stick and keep the ash and oxides worked into a pile so I have a nice, clean, shiny melt from which to dip my ladle for the next round of ingot pours.
