How hard (BHN) be for gas checked boolits? Is air cooled WW be hard enough? Or is water quenching WW be the best? I use gas checks for these calibers, 44Mag - 41Mag and 357Mag.

AC ww alloy works very well for those calibers. I don't get any leading at all with ac ww's +gc, and with a decent load and decent gun, you might expect the same. Good luck.

Good morning
Actually depending on how much pressure you apply to the base of the boolit you may not even need the GC.
I shoot the calibers .41 & .357. If it is a mild load why bother with the check. I leave then off until I see a need to use them. I also start with 50-50 mix air cooled until again I see a need to go to straight WW.
