Went to the range just to play, had my 45/70 Shiloh and my 03/A3 with me. The Shiloh does fine just not enough room at our range 200 yds doesn't even begin to show its stuff. The 03/A3 did great at 200 and 100 but what surprised me was I had as good of groups at 200 as 100. Put five in a 2.5" group in the x ring at both distances. I was shooting some 200 gr LEE .310 boolits with 61.4 gr of WC860 at right at 2000fps. The setting on the sight was 2 for 100 and 3 for 200. I had put two wraps of teflon tape which brought it from .310 to .3125 with no lead. I was surprised that I didn't have trouble with the tape but I didn't see any "snow"

That's really good. I finally picked up a 1000 rounds of GI brass for me 03A3 and M1 and am prepping it now. I can't wait to get out to the range for some 100yard fire.

The 03 amazes me every time I take it out, can't compare it to a modern type rifle as I do not own any modern type rifles.

I don't really care it it is called modern or ancient, it's still my favorite one!
